Idaho Direct Access

Skip the referral.
It's the law.

Idaho is one of 21 states that allow patients total, unrestricted access to a licensed physical therapist. No physician referral. No visit limit. No 30-day clock. Just call us and book.

§54-2211

Direct access

Treat without prescription or referral — full evaluation, diagnosis, and plan of care.

§54-2218

Scope of practice

Where care exceeds PT scope, we refer to the right provider. We never diagnose disease or perform surgery.

Licensure board

Common questions

Before you book.

No. Under Idaho Code Title 54, Chapter 22 — the Idaho Physical Therapy Practice Act — Idaho is an unrestricted direct-access state. You can see a licensed physical therapist directly, with no physician referral, no visit cap, and no time limit. A handful of insurance plans (and most Medicare plans) still require a referral for reimbursement; we'll verify yours when you call.

We're in-network with Blue Cross of Idaho, Regence BlueShield of Idaho, PacificSource, SelectHealth, Mountain Health CO-OP, Aetna, and Medicare. We also work with most out-of-network plans and offer a transparent self-pay rate.

First visits are 60 minutes. Follow-ups are 45–60 minutes. We never double-book — your time with your therapist is your time.

Loose, comfortable clothing you can move in. For lower-body issues, shorts are ideal. We have a private changing room if you need it.

Most patients see meaningful improvement in 4–8 visits. We'll give you an honest estimate after your first appointment — and we'll never keep you longer than you need.

Yes. Many follow-ups, exercise reviews, and consultations work well over video. We'll always recommend in-person when hands-on assessment is needed.
